Lighter, matches, and firestarter

You'll want a lighter for lighting the stove and campfires. It's important for everyone to have this in case of emergencies. It's also important to have waterproof matches or matches in a water proof container. This is in case your lighter doesn't work. For example, the lighter pictured here I tested the day before I left on a trip and it didn't work. I normally don't check that before a trip, so it was only by God's Grace that I realized this problem before I was on the trail. If I had been on the trail I would have to use the matches, or borrow from someone else (you brought yours, right?) For firestarter, dryer lint is a good choice.
